We are Flat Rock Kennels in Campbell Hill, Illinois, and we have raised Miniature American Shepherds in our home since 2018. Available puppies appear at the top of this page as soon as they are ready to be reserved. When the list is empty, it means every puppy from our current litter is spoken for — most of ours are reserved before they are born. The waitlist is free to join and there is no obligation, and it is the only way to hear about a litter before it is announced publicly.
A $600 deposit reserves your place. It is fully refundable for 48 hours, it can be moved to a different puppy if your plans change, and it comes off the balance of your puppy. Each puppy's price is listed on that puppy's own page. Ask us anything before you place one — we would rather answer questions now than have a family feel rushed.

Every litter is whelped in our whelping room and monitored around the clock. Early Neurological Stimulation begins in the first weeks, followed by daily handling and exposure to everyday sounds, surfaces and people. Crate, potty and leash training all start before a puppy ever leaves us. Both parents are health screened and DNA tested, and we earned Canine Care Certification in October 2024.
We are about an hour and a half southeast of St. Louis, so families drive to us from across Southern Illinois and the surrounding states.
